Mel’s wedding day skincare plan

Hi, I’m Mel- one of the co-founders at The Skyn Distillery. I am getting married February 2022; which is 7 + Months away…. AND since The Skyn Distillery specializes in working with brides getting their skin ready for their big day I thought it may be helpful to share the skincare routine and products that I’m using. Reminder 80% of skincare is done at home and 20% is done seeing us in studio; being consistent and using good quality products will give you results.

MY SKIN PROFILE

I’m a 34 female, who has past sun damage - hyperpigmentation, a little texture, and is starting to notice more signs of aging- fine lines and wrinkles. I have normal to dry skin type that during the summer runs normal; but winter runs dry. I DO NOT have sensitive skin and do not deal with acne. I drink about 8+ glasses of water a day, exercise 5-6 days a week, eat a lot of veggies/fruit. My vices are alcohol and sweets- which can create skin dullness.

MY MORNING RITUAL: Focus is on hydrating, brightening, firming and protecting! The product I couldn’t live with out is the HA Revive Drops- which have Hyaluronic acid in them that helps me maintain moisture all day long. As for SPF - I love the tinted Moisturizer as my main makeup for the day that helps even my skin tone and protects me from the sun. My Reapply or Die is the SPF 40 Oil Free… that I use in the summer religiously for when I’m out in the sun, exercising, boating, patios, etc.

MY EVENING RITUAL: Focus on deep hydration and anti-aging. The product I couldn’t live without is the Beta Clarity Drops- which has salicylic, glycolic, and retinol in it that helps with texture, breakouts, and fine lines and wrinkles. I also believe in a thicker nighttime moisturizer for nighttime- I am using the Skin Firming Moisturizer now for more lifting focus; but I also love the Restorative Cream. The Pro 5 Liquid Exfoliant is used 2x a week in the evening for me; where I cleanse- Apply the Pro5 like a toner with a cotton round and let absorb for 3 minutes, then follow with serum and moisturizer. This helps brighten, reduce texture, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

WHAT NOW:

I’ll be doing this routine leading up to my wedding day; there may be adjustments this winter starting in November because of the climate change and how my skin is doing. Also there will be a blog post following this one my in-studio treatment plans which will be more corrective focus-using peels and micro channeling to have my skin be the best it can be.
