Your wedding day makeup is only as good as your skin and the two biggest things I see all the time are DEHYDRATED SKIN + TEXTURE on my brides during their makeup trial runs! DEHYDRATED SKIN
When your skin is hydrated it is like a ripe grape and when it’s dehydrated it looks like a raisin. Dehydrated skin can give you the look of premature aging with fine lines and texture around the forehead, eyes, and mouth. When the skin is dehydrated it likes to absorb the moisture out of the makeup, which will make the makeup appear cakey and allow it to settle into lines.
TEXTURED SKIN
Small bumps and rough patches can be from dehydrated skin, lack of proper skincare routine, and either over exfoliating or under exfoliating. Makeup can color correct, but makeup cannot improve texture. There is no way to blend makeup or melt it into the skin when there is texture.
HOW TO FIX YOUR SKIN BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY?
Drink water- it’s FREE. We recommend 8 - 8oz glasses of water a day. Everyone’s water intake will be different based on weight and physical activity, but the 8x8 rule is an easy one to remember.
Get Sleep- it’s FREE - Aim for 7-8 hours a night. During Sleep, your skin’s blood flow increases, and the organ rebuilds its collagen and repairs damage from UV exposure, reducing wrinkles and age spots.
A balanced Skincare Routine. I have a lot of clients tell me they are oily and in reality they are dry/normal. So they will be over cleansing or under moisturizing their skin which will make it super unbalanced. Your skincare routine is huge in properly nourishing your skin.
